Tanaam had been in Denerim less then a day, she hadn't found any work yet, this may have been partially due to the fact that about 3/4 quarters of the people who saw her seemed to panic and leave quickly, if they didn't outright run away screaming. As she was walking down a road she noticed a man sat leaning against a wall below a broken window. On closer inspection the blood coming from his neck identified him as a corpse.

Tanaam let her hand hover closer to the hilt of her sword, but she did not draw it yet - no sense in scaring the little people more than they were already, after all. She looked around, primarily for any sign of potential attackers, but also for anyone who might yell for the guards and frame her if she moved to check the corpse. All in all, it was probably just a dead body, but being careful never hurt.
[OOC: Notice roll: 1. Any potential attackers? 2. Anyone looking like they're about to frame me for murder?]

The street was empty, this being late in the evening, she remembered seeing two guards on duty, a couple of turns back, but they had seemed to be remaining where they were.

Shrugging to herself, Tanaam went to investigate the corpse - she started checking the obvious (race, physical condition, how long he had been dead, and suchlike), still keeping an eye out around her.

The man human, couldn't have been dead long an hour a most, his throat had been slit and the bloodied skin was still slightly damp, he had a long sword at his hip and was wearing a shabby set of leather armour.

Tanaam frowned, and searched the man's pockets for any sign of who he was - or who had killed him and why. For a moment she toyed with alerting the guards - but given the way everyone else had reacted to her, she thought that a bad idea.

There were a few coins but nothing of much interest, his weapon was still sheathed. There were no identifiers as to who the man was, nor who had killed him.

She left the coins where they were - thus far she had done nothing wrong, and saw no reason to change that, in case there was someone watching her. She headed back towards the guards she had seen earlier, in two minds about whether to talk to them - she figured she would judge their reactions to her. If they reacted to the sight of her with open hostility she would just keep walking, she decided.

The guards had reacted with surprise and a little fear when she'd passed previously, clearly though they had gotten over their shock, and decided Tanaam probably wasn't going start hacking people down in the street or goring people with her horns. one nodded to Tanaam as she came near them.

Good enough, she decided, and walked over to them. "Excuse me?" she called out as she approached. "I think there's a body over there..." She saw no reason to tell them she'd checked the man over; better just to leave the situation to them.

The pair looked surprised, then looked at each other as if expecting the other to speak. Finally one did. "Could you show us?"

Tanaam nodded, heading back towards where she had found the corpse.

Upon reaching the body one of the guards knelt and inspected it. "Small blade, from behind, no signs of resistance." He checked the mans pockets. "Not theft." He looked up at the window "break in? Chalmers go get back up we need a perimeter at either end of this street and the one on the other side immediately" The other man nodded and ran off. "I'm going to go round the front and watch the door and make sure no one leaves. I know this is unorthodox but can you stay with the body and watch the window? I'm not comfortable leaving this to chance while I wait for back up. I'm assuming you can use that?" He gestured at Tanaam's sword.

Tanaam nodded, somewhat surprised the guards were willing to involve her further. "Of course," she replied, finding a good position with her back to a wall so nobody could creep up on her, from where she could easily see the body and the window. She rested a hand on her sword's hilt, ready in case of trouble.

"Thanks, unless it comes up later, don't mention it to the rest of the guard, I'm sure it breaks at least three regulations but I'm in a tight spot." He ran down the street and disappeared round the corner. A few minutes passed, then a man appeared at the window looking away from Tanaam, she heard him shouting but it was too muffled to be understood.

Tanaam drew her sword, as quietly as possible, but stayed where she was and tried not to draw any attention. As long as the shouting man stayed in the house, there was no need to turn this into a fight. Yet.

Another voice could be heard shouting louder and clearly angry, after a few minutes of shouting, there was a splatter as blood hit the window and the man dropped to the floor, revealing a blonde women who looked very angry, and then terrified when she looked out of the window, she stared for a few seconds then disappeared from view.

[OOC: I assume the blonde woman saw Tanaam and looked terrified as a result of seeing the armed qunari? Or did she look the other way and spot something else that frightened her?]

Tanaam flinched in surprise - of all the things she had been expecting, random murder was not one of them - and ran to the window, trying to yank it open. "Stop, murderer!" she shouted, mostly to attract attention, not through any real expectation of the murderer stopping.
[OOC: If required, Strength roll to get that window open]

The window was only closed not locked so it opened with ease. Inside there are two doors on the right wall and one straight ahead, presumably the front door. On the left is a stair case leading downwards, it looked like this is where the woman went.

She climbed in through the window, careful not to step on the victim as she did so, taking care not to hurry, slip, fall and gore him with her horns or anything. She stopped only to open the front door and call out "Guard! Woman stabbed that man in front of the window!" before chasing after the woman, ignoring the two doors for now.

When she reached the bottom of the stairs she saw the woman, blood on her chest, peering down into a Huge hole in the ground. She span round, hearing the intruder, and drew a pair of daggers. "You have no idea what you're interrupting." (Combat order Tanaam, woman. Assuming you attack, if not then ignore.)

She stared at Tanaam for a second, as if weighing her chances, before dropping her daggers into the hole and dropping into it herself sliding down a ladder.
