When I added all the positives Mankoi gave the guy by beserking him, and from pulling a Joker, he rolled 22 damage... uh, Fintan's toughness is 4. So, that's... a wound for every Raise... that's 4-8-12-16-20... that's Shaken and FOUR wounds. So, Fintan is incapacitated and bleeding out after one *REALLY* unlucky dice roll.
Okay, so this is how the dice fell: Firstly, he's Beserk. That gives him a +2 to all Fighting, Strength, melee damage rolls, and his Toughness. The Joker gives him a +2 to all rolls, including damage. So, I rolled Fighting for him - he rolled high enough on one four-sided die (this guy is not a wild card) to Raise against Fintan's parry. So, I roll damage - with an extra d6, as per the rules. Four, four and six. Well, that's not good. I add that lot together - 14 - and reroll the exploded d6. It rolls a four. That's eighteen. Plus two from Beserk, plus two from the Joker. That's a dying character.
Mankoi, don't give up - here are your options!
You must make an immediate Vigor roll. Your Vigor is d4. You are rolling at -3. Counting that: You must roll a 4 in order not to die. Even then, you must roll a 7 not to receive an immediate permament Wound. On one d4.
OR you can spend a Benny, and receive an immediate injury that will go away when all Wounds are healed. I STRONGLY recommend doing this.
There isn't a whole hell of a lot anyone can do to help you at this point. Luckily for you, Hairah has three bennies and is very good at Healing. When combat is over, people can start stuffing your brains back in.
I did not plan this! I really actually wanted you guys to win the fight... I still do! The plan was not to kill someone!
