"Pretty much, yeah," Scott said. "Some of us come and ago, especially Logan, but most of us live on campus, so to speak. It's actually the Xavier family mansion. With a few new add ons."

The rest of the car ride was largely uneventful. Perhaps the most interesting thing was when Scott had to break to avoid hitting a rabbit. Soon enough, however, Scott was pulling into the garage of the mansion.
"Looks like Logan stole my motorcycle. Again." Scott said, with a sigh. "I'm gonna show you to your room. We've got people outside your door all night tonight, so you'll be safe. I think Ororo has the first shift. If you need anything, or want to explore the mansion, just let her know."

Sophie nodded. "I might look around after I unpack. Oh, can you promise me nobody's going to move my stuff around in my room? Really promise?" Her tone indicated exactly how important that was to her, hinting at past issues she wasn't discussing.

"I promise," Scott said. "No one here would do that to you. Ask Ruth, she's never had any issues with it. And I can tell whoever is with you to check your room when you leave and get back, to make sure everything is where it ought to be."

"Who's Ruth?" Sophie asked. "I don't think you mentioned her."

"Ruth is one of the students," Scott said. "She was born without any eyes, she just has skin there. But I think she finds her way around by using precognition to know which way she's going to to wind up going. It's best not to think about it too much."

Sophie's head tilted slightly. "So she knows where she's going because she... senses she's going to be there? No offence, but I think I'll stick to this," she muttered, indicating the white cane she carried.

"I don't pretend to understand it," Scott said, leading Sophie across the house, and up a flight of stairs. "But it works out well enough for her. Between some of the combat skills I was able to teach her, and her abilities, she's a pretty good fighter."

Sophie nodded as she followed him up, her attention more focussed on the house around her. [OOC: Notice roll, how many people are around, where, how big is this place, what are they doing, any interesting conversations, and are any of them doing anything suspicious? The house was clearly not a small one, not surprising, given the number of the students it had, and Scott seemed to have taken her through a large central area at first, though once they were up the stairs, they had entered into a much smaller hallway, no doubt due to most of the room in the area being taken up by the student dormitories. The fact that they were in the dormitories was obvious from the general sounds of living about, including the flushing of toilets from multiple different locations, indicating that there were several on this floor. There was a general buzz of conversation most everywhere, as the area seemed somewhat overcrowded. Most of the conversations were about normal things, like school work, family, etc.
"Gyah!" someone exclaimed. "Kitty, I know the hallway can get crowded, but could you please not walk through people? It's creepy!"
"Sorry, Jean!" Another voice exclaimed. "I wasn't even thinking."

Sophie mentally filed away the knowledge that Kitty could walk through people - and, presumably, inanimate objects. She also filed away the location of the closest toilet, because that kind of information was always a good thing to know.

"Your room is through here," Scott said. "There's a small closet on the left. Bathroom on the right. You share it with the room next door. So... uh... Hisako, I think. It's basically all students up here. Most of the instructors sleep in the sub-basement. But Ororo is in the attic. She likes the size of it up there." [OOC: I'm using this map as a basic guide, though I may take liberties with it. img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100117204841/marveldatabase/images/3/33/X-Men_Annual_Vol_2_1_Inside_The_Xmansion.jpg It seems rather similar to the map you made from Legends as well]

Sophie frowned; sharing a bathroom would naturally mean things would get moved around, and that was an obvious problem. Hopefully she could talk to Hisako later. "Thanks. I'll unpack now, if that's all right." She mostly wanted time to get to know her new room - she realised suddenly that she was already thinking of it as her room, despite having officially not yet accepted a place here.

After maybe half an hour, Sophie was unpacked and able to navigate her new room without using her cane - something she considered very important, given she was supposed to be staying here. She opened the door with a cheerful smile at the person she hoped was standing in front of her.
[OOC: Notice roll to listen for breathing, footsteps, rustle of clothing etc that may indicate people?]

There was a faint, but noticeable flapping sound. It wasn't easy to place at first, but kinda sounded like the person who was, indeed, in front of her might have been wearing some kind of cape. There was also a slight draft, though it wasn't clearly exactly where it was coming from.
"Hello, Sophie," a voice said. "We haven't been properly introduced. I'm Ororo Munroe."

Sophie nodded, wondering at the maybe-cape. "Good to meet you. I think I was told you're one of the instructors here?"
