Just wondering how many people would be interested in doing a science fiction campaign.
Key points:
Spaceships! spaceship for every kind of task! Your homeworld will technically be a kind of Death-star built out of a planet.
Adapted Mongoose Traveller -- you can die during character generation.
You can 'be' any race you like, as long as you invent it. No elves but I'll allow elf-like creatures.*
No first contact has happened so far in the planet-ship's history.
No "Precursor races".
No "Evil empire." The planet has multiple governments, however. It's a vocation-oriented society.
Entangled comms -- you can talk to each other across light years instantly if you sync your smart-watches/headbands/socks to each other's frequency.
"Anagathics" -- you can live beyond your normal lifespan... but it's expensive.
Cybernetics.
+ ...other weird stuff you can read and look up from your computers. Remember the entangled comms? If c is the speed at which things 'happen', visualised as an expanding light-sphere from a point of origin, you're actually communicating faster than that.
The kind of direction of the campaign has you on one of the orbital platforms, to start with. You're on a spaceship! You've lived there a good long while.
*{You can be a tree.
You can be a happy bouncy spacemushroom!
You can be a hive of insects (with bonuses to your remote ops skill.)
You can be a squid (seacreatures get seriously good bonuses to piloting.)
You can be a spaceship... if you roll right. You'll have to start as another race then plug in.
You can be a vampire. A science-fiction vampire doesn't need to breathe but they need to stay more than 1 A U away from a star of 1 Luminosity.
You can be a human. They're really good at stuff like "talking" and can put their arms over their heads. There's a reason we've colonised the whole of Earth and not any other species.
You can be any creature/non-creature you meet. I'll give you the tools to play it.}
