Phil knew the facility pretty well, apparently, and was taking a fairly odd route to reach his destination without encountering any people.
"I planned for this," Phil said. "Well, not this exactly, but something like this. We had a nasty incident once with a blue lady who could change her shape. There's people out there who can control minds. Project illusions into the brain, make people think they're shooting hostiles when there's nothing but friendlies about. Most of them are on the straight and narrow, if not the side of good outright, but there's always a few bad apples."
Eventually Phil reached a section of the wall, no different from any other section, and placed his hand in a very specific area. After a moment, there was a small beep and a section of the wall slid open.
"I'm Level... well it's a high one. I get enough oversight I can have these supplies placed in the buildings, keyed to my handprint. I put them in places where I know the path will be clear if there's a firefight, either internal or external."
Phil removed a duffel bag from the panel and opened it up, pulling out items and handing them to Jack.
"I didn't put cash in this one, but there's a card here. The pin number is 7445. Use that to buy your ticket. Do not use it for anything else. It's registered to a fake person, with a real bank account, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to trace it if you use it multiple times. Say cheese."
Before waiting for a response, Phil snapped a picture of Jack and took a passport out of the bag. He attached a small wire from the phone to the paper, and the picture on the passport changed to one of Jack before his eyes.
"It pays to stay a few steps ahead of the transit authorities," Phil said. "You'd have to be S.H.I.E.L.D. to know it wasn't a real passport, and that this isn't real paper. For your flight, your name is Jason Carter. That's the name on the passport, and the name on the card."
He pulled out a rather small suitcase next. "No matter what's in here, it shows up as being full of paper on an X-Ray. You'll want to keep the Heart in here when you go through security, along with anything else that'll fit that you don't want picked up by security. I recommend arrowheads. You'll be able to check the arrows if they don't have sharp tips on them. If you have questions, now is the time."

Listening and nodding as Phil spoke, Jack would put the gem into the case there and then. Following that, Jack would take the time to make a mental note of all the details "7445, Jason Carter. got it." Albeit surprised by the sudden photo, he took it in stride. "First of, what'll you do with this whole mess?"

"I need to find out if the Director is all right," Phil said. "Then find the cause of this. If we're lucky, it's just mind control. If we're unlucky, we have a mole problem. If that's the case... well, we have protocols, analyzing what orders were given, what orders were followed, seeing if there's patterns of movements that go against our interest, or work in the interests of someone else. I'm going to have to answer a lot of hard questions about where the Heart went, but that's not important."

Nodding in response "Well, best of luck on your end, any way I can contact you when i reached my destination?"

"You won't be able to, but Professor Xavier will be able to reach me. He'll know how."

"Got it. So I just need to worry about getting there. Suppose I ought to get out of here and be on my way."

"I'll get you to the door," Phil said. "After that, it's up to you. Just lay low, don't draw attention to yourself, and get it to the mansion as soon as you can. What you do after that is up to you."
True to his word, Phil lead him the rest of the way out of the facility. The firefight seemed to have mostly passed, and while they did see a few people, no one spoke to the other, and everyone seemed suspicious and on edge.

Following along, Jack would be keeping an eye out all the same till they reached the door. Once outside, he'd turn to Phil "Right, I'll be on my way. I'll see to it that I also try to figure out what this stone does while I'm there." And with that, Jack would turn to find a suitable place to look up and book flights

[OOC: There's nothing eventful planned, so unless there's anything special you want to do, I'm happy to skip to your arrival in New York]

Jack was able to board a flight for New York, though it took a detour through Germany, and Boston before actually getting there, making the flight insanely long. Though there didn't seem to be any issues going through the metal detector or the X-Ray machine, Jack still found himself being lead by security into a windowless back room.

While Jack wouldn't resist at all- just in case these people are friends. At the same time, Jack remained wary, and was insistent on keeping all of his belongings on him, especially that suitcase! Once in there, he'd ask right away "so what's this about?"

"Random search, sir," the officer said. "Please hand over the briefcase."

Worst time ever for a random search "i'm afraid I can't. Private Documents. i may be swayed to let you do so if I can have proof that you are an officer." If this mysterious group that infiltrated some high security thing like Shield can't infiltrate an airport like this, then his name is Legolas as far as he's concerned. Not to mention under strict orders to not let anyone but Professor Xavier get his hands on the stone.

The man flashed Jack his badge. "Care to explain why your private document are making a distinctly un-paper like sound in that case, sir?"

"Hey, can i take a closer look at that?" He gestured to the badge, before lifting the case's handle up and letting it drop. "Also, the sound was this, what did you think it was?" (ooc: he Wouldn't be holding the case by the handle at any point. should of mentioned it)

The officer tossed his badge to Jack and pulled his gun from the holster. "Open the case now, sir."
"Put the gun away, Agent Larson," a woman said, walking into the room and closing the door firmly behind her. "I'm sure Dr. Cuyler understands his position."
"I was supposed to be alone on this," Larson said. "No one told me you were coming in on this."
"Change of plan," the woman said, simply before jabbing a needle into the guard's leg. The guard's free hand moved to the wound, while he swung around to aim his gun at the woman. Before he could even finish doing that, the gun had slipped from his fingers, and he appeared to be unconscious before he even hit the floor. The woman turned to Jack, kicking the unconscious man's gun towards him and raising her hands.
"I'm so sorry, Dr. Cuyler, there's been a terrible misunderstanding," she said. "I'm Agent Brand. I'm afraid Agent Coulson played you."

Pocketing the badge, as for a lack of better place to put it, Jack would slowly pick up the gun, eyes locked onto Agent Brand, checking the safety on the gun. "Excuse if I don't sound convinced, I'm not exactly too trusting of people right now. What do you mean by played?"

"Agent Coulson is Hydra," Brand explained, hands still in the air, not moving. "He picked you up so he could get access to the inside of the vault. It wouldn't open unless someone had some reason to examine the Heart. I was on to him, I sent agents to eliminate the threat and protect the Heart. They've gone dark, so I'm guessing Coulson killed them. At that point, he would have realized we were on to him. He couldn't carry out the Heart himself. So he had you do it."
Agent Brand gently kicked the unconscious man. "And was going to have this man waylay you at the airport in order to recover it for himself again."

(ooc: To what extent would my character know of Hydra? won't change this post. I assume there'd be some basic knowledge about them available)
"And how do I know you are not Hydra?" He asked, while not pointing the gun at her, would keep it on hand. She wasn't going to let him go without the heart, he figured that much, even in such an apparently defenseless situation.

[OOC: Your character probably knows that Hydra was a rogue Nazi science department from the war, and that Captain America spent some time fighting them. Most people have never heard of them, but given your character's age, he probably remembers when they used to be in the news and such]
"You can't," Agent Brand said. "That's what makes Hydra a threat. You can prove someone does work for them, if you get lucky, but you can't prove a negative. I will point out that this man could have shot you, taken the Heart, and walked back to Hydra. Stopping him isn't in my best interest. I'll tell you what, where did Phil tell you to take the Heart? New York somewhere, obviously. He's have given you somewhere it could be safe, but outside S.H.I.E.L.D. Baxter Building? Stark Tower? Something like that? Let's take it there, and I'll prove to you that S.H.I.E.L.D. wants it back. We'll have Director Fury himself pick it up."

"I suppose I must be lucky then. However, I don't think I will be going anywhere with a Hydra agent." Jack backed away from the woman as he spoke. She had ran out of strikes, what she told him did not match what he knew and what he witnessed. he had to get this away from her, and he had to get this stone to Xavier's school.

"Okay, that's fine," the woman said. "Fair enough. Just let me know where you're taking it so I can tell the director. You'd trust him, right? Not trusting me is fair, how would you feel about Director Fury?"

"I can't say I've met the guy. So I wouldn't know if the person you contact is Director Fury, even if you do so infront of me. Do you see the problem here? I know no one, so I do not know who I can trust and who I can't, and the people I can trust, such as the Director, I do not know the appearance of." Thinking for a moment before suggesting "If you can bring Agent Coulson on with Director Fury, even if he is a traitor to S.H.I.E.L.D. He ought to still be there, as a prisoner as nothing else, right? if he is, then you can get your answers from him, and I can decide which side who's on."

"Coulson won't come willingly," Brand said. "But there are easier ways of doing things. Who are you taking it too? Richards? Stark? Xavier? Murdock? They've all met the Director. They know his face. Or his voice in the latter case. They can tell you if it's him or not."
