"If you trust my judgment, you'll be guided to ask Kairo for his opinion... for whether he wants to join you. Am I asking too much? I didn't 'ask' to lead the children of power around, but if you want to shirk and avoid your responsibilities I'm more than willing to give you an order, guardsman. If you can't even do that, I'll come with you myself."

At this point Kairo appears, yawning at the hour. It's early, especially so for him. It's clear by the signs of slight rings under his eyes that he didn't sleep much, and even then it was fitful. He looks around at their undoubtedly shocked looks at his early arrival. "What? I worry too you know. I'm just better at concealing it than the rest of you." His uncharacteristic harsher tone a sign of his sleep deprivation.

Melasni cleared his throat, sick of what he clearly thought of as immature squabbling. "Kairo, are you coming to Marstow, or staying with the others?" he asked by way of good morning.

(ooc: isn't Melasni going to Marstow?)
"My responsibilities are what draw me home! question my judgement all you like but not my duty and please don't presume to give me orders." Ronan takes a deep breath calming himself "however I do agree that Kairo certainly has a say, Jadyr to if gets up but I do have a wife who could be in a war zone when I arrive so you can understand my desire for haste"

the sound of thudding of a not so subtle Jadyr coming down the stairs would soon be followed by "can you guys talk quietly or something?" appearing at the doorway, hair messy- correction, messier than usual. one hand wiping the sleep from his eyes, the other resting on the doorframe "what's this all about anyway?"

"Jadyr staying or going?"

Just sort of blinking, taking a minute to comprehend the question before stretching and responding with "I think it makes sense to stay here and have these two-" lazily waving at Nemos and Kairo "-put their heads in books and find that holy lake that prophecy mentions. But it comes down to what everyone else says. I'm not gonna try and stop you from going though. I get what's going through your head, but I personally want to avoid the war. mostly because of that damn full power thing I have."

Jadyr looking over "What's wrong with that? it says the lake is key, right? so perhaps we'll get more hints if we find it. Oh- speaking of hints; Ronan, when you get a spare moment, feed Aron. Something might happen" (ooc: sorry for potential misspelling of Aron)

Kairo looks between the three Children of Power and Melasni, and sighs. Raising his head and giving a resigned smile, "I go where Jadyr goes, if that means staying in Ayewelleyah to research this Holy Lake, then so be it. Maybe in this city of water we can find someone who might know something about it."
"I'm as keen to keep out of this war as Jadyr, and while it leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing it's going on and not able to directly help right now, if our path lies elsewhere, and we can indirectly help some other way, we'll do our best from here."
Looking over at the guardsman, he gives him a nod. "Good luck Ronan, and Melasni, make sure to keep in touch. I want to know what's going on, and with this, I think we'll need all the information we can get."

Melasni gave Kairo the slightest of nods that might possibly have held something vaguely approaching the smallest hint of respect. "Find yourselves a Metal mage," he suggested. "I'll have someone contact them." With that, he shouldered his pack and calmly headed for the door.
[OOC: Ronan, I'll split your roleplay separately soon.]

Jadyr would nod towards Melasni, waiting for the two to have walked out before turning to the remaining children of power "I'll see about finding a metal mage. Starting with the smiths, it's an obvious place to look"

"Try not to kill anyone." Nemos calls out. "You're a civilian first and a soldier second, Ronan."
At this, he then strolls out the door, apparently having made a decision. "I'm still churning over this prophesy. And the ramifications. So I'm going to write down all these thoughts. They'll make sense. 'Then' I can come to terms with them." He's gripping at his orb. Almost squeezing it as he leaves for Winter's courtyard. He'll ask for a paper and pen before committing the thoughts from his head.

Kairo walks outside to watch Melasni and Ronan leave, an odd sense of serenity passes over him as the sight of Ayewelleyah, with its winding rivers, and the gigantic waterfall roaring quietly to itself in the distance. He can almost make sense of the waterfall's din, but not quite. Like a memory on the edge of your mind that you can't quite remember the details of, as a sort of fuzzy haze. "Im going to take a swim, and think about things. If you need me, look up.", he calls back to Jadyr, and grins, knowing Jadyr would know where to look for him in this city.
The looming sense of responsibility hadn't faded, but with the immediate decision to stay in the city made, and the rest of the Children of Power doing what they thought would be the best thing they could do to help, it had lifted slightly. That's not to say he was going to spend all day lounging in the pool under the falls, oh no. He would be thinking seriously about what to do next, how he could best aid everyone at this point.
Nemos has his thing with deciphering the prophecy with Winters. As much as Kairo enjoyed Winters' company, today didn't seem like the right kind of day for it. Jadyr had befriended the smiths, tagging along would be like a spare wheel. He needed to find something different to help with. Maybe it would come to him, as he thought about it. He sets off towards the nearest river, intending to swim upstream to the falls, because why bother with a boat when you're the Child of Water...

Jadyr would roll his eyes at his brother's statement before walking over to the bar to get himself breakfast- assuming the porridge. That wouldn't take long to down before he would leave the bar. His destination: the smiths about the city. He was familiar where they were through the times he had stopped to help out for extra cash for the group.

Walking to Winters' courtyard, and the pockmarked bit of ground where the bush incident occurred, Nemos starts to relax. It's so close to libraries and original thoughts here. He's probably got the pen and paper by now, having been quite polite -- he's leagues away from the stressed child he seemed to be earlier.
It's almost a religious experience, him making a book. Muttering things like: "As no two people have exactly the same thoughts and experiences... ...as no two people interpret the same book in exactly the same way; so also must it be... ...so also must it be that every book is an infinite library of infinite thought... ...and so true must it be that each and every note is its own unique piece in an infinite collection..."
Anyone looking at him would see it's painfully obvious he misses his mountain from the way he stares back again and again at his bonsai mountain and his orb. He's got the orb balanced on the site of the sanctuary as though still coming to terms with things. He's not cooling with his usual aura as he writes. He wants the ink to flow, not freeze as it scratches down his thoughts.
(OOC: Where do I put this writing I've got? Here? On a separate thread?)
It'd only take an hour or two.
